Open to all adults who happen to be free on a Thursday afternoon!
The aim of this club is to bring together like-minded people in a safe environment where they can explore many aspects of theatre performance. It is open to all levels of ability and experience from beginners to seasoned performers who, for whatever reason, might have less opportunity to perform now. Over the weeks we will develop and maintain performance skills and creativity by:
- Exploring a variety of play texts of differing genres.
- Improvisation.
- Acting without words.
- Exploring emotional creativity.
- Engaging and challenging the mind.
- Applying Stanislavski’s method (given circumstances, objectives, actions etc).
- Use of voice and speech.
- Use of body and movement.
- Use of space.
- Practice – ‘use it or lose it’.
- Having fun!
It is my hope that over the weeks we will build a community where friendships might blossom, where we will embrace continued learning and develop our creativity and sense of self. We might decide to showcase our work in the future – who knows?
