Why 3rd Third Theatre?

The 3^rd third of life typically refers to a period of life, from mid 50’s up, when many (most?) people wonder about “what’s next?”.  This is a time of life when responsibilities shift and a change in work patterns can emerge from a reduction in work hours to semi or full retirement.  

For many people this is a period of great uncertainty and confusion.  Life that has been defined by routines, commitments, work and family responsibilities can change dramatically leaving people without a familiar anchor.  But we can change the narrative and consider this period of life as simply the 3^rd third of life and set out new goals, direction and purpose.  

This philosophy is behind my creation of the 3^rd Third Theatre.  

To provide an opportunity for adults of any age to engage with theatre and enjoy creativity with like minded people.

To inspire purpose in those who need it, empowering people to create together and to facilitate high quality local theatre with passionate actors.

This is 3rd Third Theatre.
